Swap encryption w/ suspend-to-disk support: Difference between methods

In the Arch Wiki, it lists 3 methods for setting up swap encryption for suspend-to-disk support (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dm … sk_support).

Is there a difference between the LVM on LUKS method and the mkinitcipio hook method if I want hibernation? LVM on LUKS method seems quicker to set up but I was told I would take a performance hit with having a swap logical volume as opposed to having a separate swap partition and then using the mkinitcpio hook method.

Is this true?
