Hello!
As I wanted to find out whether my SSD drive on /dev/sda supports TRIM I used this command as specified in the Wiki:
hdparm -I /dev/sda | grep TRIM
This gives me the following error:
HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(identify) failed: Bad address
What does this mean? There is definitely a /dev/sda in my system and it is mounted.
I checked with df:
- /dev/sda1 is mounted as /
- a subvolume (it's Btrfs) is mounted as /home
Any ideas?
Confused,
piedro

Well, a newbie question with a simple answer...:
The command works fine and verifies my Trim support easily if used as root (per "sudo").
It's not designated as "run as root" in the arch wiki so I haven't thought about that...
Solved, I guess...
thx anyway,
