Inspiron 1520 touchpad not working

Hi, I've just installed arch on my machine and gnome on top.
I've also installed the synaptics pacakge and copied the default settings file to xorgs conf.d folder, included synaptics in xorg.conf and copied over touchpad settings from the wiki into xorg.conf (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/De … e_8600M_GT)
But the touchpad still does not work. I also looked into gnome's settings for mouse and touchpad but it is rather plain and has nothing relating touchpads in it.
Here you can find lspci, lsusb, lsmod and xorg configuration of my system: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=CxTCLCyZ

Any help is appreciated!!

Thank you!
