Hi,
I would like to replace tint2's battery script with my own, is there anyway I could make tint2 call a script every eg 10 seconds and display its output as a widget?

In tint2 it is not possible (at least not yet).
However I maintain a fork that supports that: https://gitlab.com/o9000/tint2-mods2 (see the readme). I try to keep it in sync with tint2 but keep in mind that there might be some bugs and support is minimal.

Thank you, exactly what I was looking for!
Also, is it good practice to ask such question on issue trackers of projects? I never know where to turn when I have such a question... ![]()

Normally it's better to look at the manual and/or ask on forums before opening an issue. Speaking for myself, I don't mind receiving such questions on the issue tracker.
