I have password of My neighbor WiFi (to connect just Internet. I don't care about local net stuff).
She turn off WiFi modem when she's not using internet and Turn it on for using Internet.
So I wan't to make an Alarm if my laptop found She's WiFi SSID. I think 5 min tolerance for scan WiFi is OK. I use wicd as NetworkManager.

Most wifi utilities do this by default - what have you tried so far?

I want to set an Alarm if an special SSID found by WiFi.
I'm checking wicd to see if that SSID found or not. I want to make it automatic.

Has your neighbour given you permission to access her SSID?

Yes,
She's my friend but not Girlfriend.
We have limited Internet bandwidth in Iran, and she always has extra bandwidth. she gave me WiFi password.

Do you really want "an Alarm"? Or do you actually want your system to automatically connect to your neighbour's wifi whenever it is available?

I know how to do something automatically but I don't know how to chech if that WiFi SSID is available. I just read wicd, wicd-cli, wicd-... manuals but there is not any option to show list of available WiFi SSID in terminal (Or I didn't see ).
I want to set an auto check every (for exam) 15min to check list of available WiFi SSID and with grep check for my neighbor SSID.
It's my algorithm.
