Hi all.
Looking to add onto my Lenovo Y510P laptop. What I would really like to do is add this ASUS MB MB168B+ 15.6-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor as a secondary monitor. It runs power and screen all through USB3, which my laptop has.
I was wondering if anyone has used this before and how well supported it is on Arch. I would really rather not spend $200 on a device that I cannot get to work.
Thanks for any feedback!

Fortunately, now we can.

I use MicrosoftSurfacePro2 + AsusMB168+, Manjaro(Arch) + KDE.
Bewrare the driver is still premature stage.
```
lsusb
sudo modprobe udl
systemctl enable displaylink.service
systemctl start displaylink.service
systemctl status displaylink.service
xrandr --listproviders
xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 1 0
xrandr --output DVI-1-0 --mode 1920x1080 --right-of eDP1
```

Right on! Thanks for the reply. When I finally save up some money I'm definitely going to be buying this!

I followed the above instructions and got an ASUS MB168B+ to display properly in 1024 x 768 (4:3) but not 1366 x 768 (16:9), in which case the display looks like a bunch of diagonal streaks. My laptop (ASUS Q324UA) screen is 1920 x 1080 (16:9). I would greatly appreciate any commiseration or potential fixes. Thanks!

rogerjin, please open a new thread for your problem. This thread is very old and should not be necrobumped.
