Hi,
I have installed fingerpint-gui on my hp 4530s laptop and added myself to plugdev
and
chgrp -R plugdev /dev/bus/usb/
and restarted my laptop but still fingerprint-gui is not picking up my fingerprint scanner, any idea?
my lsusb details are as follow
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 138a:003c Validity Sensors, Inc. VFS471 Fingerprint Reader
Help is really appreciated
Thanks

Are you sure that the VFS471 is supported by the software?
I looked into this a while ago for a "138a:003f Validity Sensors, Inc. VFS495 Fingerprint Reader" on a HP ProBook 450 G1 and that wasn't supported.

I wonder if any of the Validity Sensors, Inc are supported by fingerprint-gui..
I also have an HP and it has a Bus 001 Device 006: ID 138a:0050 Validity Sensors, Inc. Swipe Fingerprint Sensor
Anyone knows if is there support for this hardware?
