will aur4.archlinux.org continue

Will the aur4.archlinux.org domain continue past the transition period or will it eventually be the same as aur.archlinux.org? My scripts are currently downloading from aur.archlinux.org so I want to know if/when I should switch to using aur4.

The window for the transition is 8/6-8/7; after that point, there will only be aur.archlinux.org

Current AUR maintainers are given a grace period between June 8th and July 8th to upload any package they already maintain to aur4.archlinux.org. After July 8th any package in the current AUR can be taken over by any maintainer and uploaded. On August 8th aur4.archlinux.org will become the new official AUR and will be moved to the aur subdomain.

Thanks both for the clarification I missed that in the wiki. Will there be anyway to reach the old versions ie aur3.archlinux.org? After reading the wiki more carefully, I see

which seems to imply continued access to the old stuff.

There's http://pkgbuild.com/git/aur-mirror.git but I don't know what's going to happen to it.

The plan currently is to archive the old AUR, but I have no clue as to where they are going to do that, however, the part you quoted means that the reservation for the current maintainers expires. Then everyone can take the packages from the current AUR and move it to AUR4. Packages that are not moved over by someone will not be in the new AUR.

Well that implies that both aur and the new aur are visible. The earlier replies seemed to indicate that aur4 would become aur after July 8th so at that time au4==aur. I guess the old aur would then exist only as the http://pkgbuild.com/git/aur-mirror.git.

It does imply that, but, as a821 already pointed out, the move will not take place until the 8th of august. Also, the draft of the email for aur maintainers mentioned that the source tarballs will be made available for reference. [1]
