Kernel Updates causing kernel panic on iMac

I've just updated my kernel to 4.0.5 and once I get to the login prompt (cli) my system panics.
I'm unable to screengrab the entire error trace since it scrolls by so quickly and these Apple keyboards don't have a scroll lock key.
But this is the 2nd time in a month or so that this has happened – the upgrade to 4.0.1 also broke things.

Anyway, I was able to downgrade on both occasions but it's getting tiring at this point since there's never any mention in the Arch Linux news section.
I guess I'm curious how testing is done for the kernel? I get that it can't be tested on everyone's rig, but is it my machine or all 2011 iMacs that are getting this issue? Or all Intel Apple computers for that matter? If it's the latter, should somebody be testing that before the update is released into the wild?

Have you considered using the LTS kernel instead?

Thanks for the suggestion – I'll try it out.

I'd also like to mention that Kernel 4.x.x has been consistently been causing panic on my iMac for each minor release.
I'm not sure if there's a kernel dev who has an Apple computer, but it would be a smart idea to have one as it seems the issues aren't getting resolved since there's no one actively debugging on an Apple.
