Hi, all.
I noticed that finally (old package was from 2004 ) openal was updated, but (and its a great but) where is freealut now?
In the old versions of openal (official releases of openal) alut was included in openal, but the openal developers decided to split it up in openal and freealut in their newest releases. So the new Arch OpenAL Package is only openal cause its based on the newest openal release where alut is no longer included. As a developer i miss now the Alut Libraries. Ok i can make my own freealut package, but I think this will only be a workaround. In my opinion freealut must be provided by the same repository like openal (extra) cause also its was split up it belongs together.
I'm relatively new and don't know what to do in such a situation. Contact the maintainer of openal directly? Make a bug report (is it a bug?)?
Make a PKGBUILD for freealut and put it in the AUR?
I decided first to make this forumpost.
btw: the url on the openal package site is wrong, too:
http://www.archlinux.org/packages.php?id=1937
it must be http://openal.org

Sounds like a bug report to me. Stick it in Flyspray, and while you're waiting for the response, you could also put a PKGBUILD in the AUR.

For the record, freealut is now in extra. Hence, I've removed it from AUR.
