Kodi wont output sound to USB speakers but they work good under gnome

I have a USB speaker system (Bose companion 5) which are perfectly working under Gnome, but when I open Kodi and select them as output audio device, the sound just wont come out. If I select the internal audio in Kodi, the sound comes out as expected through the speakers of my notebook.

lsusb |grep Bose:

Bus 005 Device 002: ID 05a7:1020 Bose Corp. 

The version of Kodi I am using is 14.2-5

Any Ideas?
