I recently acquired a laptop with two internal batteries, and I think I've found a strange bug in upower: when the first battery empties and the system starts drawing power from the second battery upower goes bananas and starts reporting an abnormally high power consumption (I filed a bug report upstream https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91003). Obviously this behaviour results in Gnome showing the inaccurate battery level and hibernating the laptop ahead of time.
Is there a good alternative applet/daemon to replace upower/gnome-power-manager that reports the battery level in gnome (and possibly hibernates the laptop when it goes down?). Also, I'd like to disable upower completely for the time being, but it doesn't seem to have its own systemd script, dbus enables it. How could I do that?
Thanks very much!
