I've looked around google and this forum but can't seem to change the default behaviour of ALT +F4 to close active window.
I would like to change that key combo to ALT +X (because the keys are closer to each other.
I'm running Xfce and have looked in the "keyboard shortcuts" section in settings, but i don't seem to find those shortcut settings there.

I don't use XFCE, so I can't easily check how things are.

Go to Settings-Window Manager and switch to the Keyboard tab. It is there:
