HI,
After installing following updates yesterday, my keyboard(Steelseries Apex) is constantly turning on and off. If I don't constantly write it turns off, if I want to write again I need to press a button and wait 3-5 seconds. This is very annoying.
Is there any of you which can give me a clue about why the following updates have done som my keyboard is acting like this?
Plus my keyboard has two USB ports, and they don't work now because my keyboard is turning on and off. I have tested my keyboard on another computer, and it works fine. And I have also checked with another keyboard on the computer which turn on and off my SteelSeries, and it also works fine?

After a similar set of updates, my keyboard ignores the first stroke on the login screen - causing me to always enter my password incorrectly. I press the first letter, nothing happens, press it again and it begins to work. Once its working it never stops, so not exactly the same issue as you but possibly similar.
Its a Lenovo multimedia keyboard with a USB port on it too.

Sounds like you're seeing this: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/340
We'll release a new systemd package once this is fixed upstream.

I'm sorry for the stupid question, but what means "fixed upstream". Is there a way to reverse back the changes? Or when do the new release come?

"Upstream" is the people or organisation that did the actual release of the software or firmware. This particular software was developed by the Systemd Team from RedHat. Downstream (or local) is the distributions packaging team. Some issues can be fixed downstream, because of a configuration/patch/setting applied due to the architecture of the distribution and some can be fixed upstream, because of the same. This is an upstream issue caused by a patch submitted to help with power management in USB hubs and roots. You can either revert the patch and recompile (good luck!!) or you can wait for upstream to revert the patch (or find another fix, which is more likely) and release an update.
*edit*- you can also try this and hope for the best: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Po … utosuspend
BTW, @fourtrelis... this appears to have been going on since 220. I could not, for the life of me, figure out what had happened. Since the power management was working properly, there were no error logs. You can add the Logitech G15 keyboard w/ 2 USB ports to your list

Buddlespit answered this quite well. I expect a fix and new packages within a couple of days. In the mean time, you can manually remove /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/42-usb-hid-pm.rules. (This rules file will most likely be removed upstream as well.)

I can confirm that this problem affects me too. I also have a Steelseries Apex. foutrelis' workaround appears to work, thank you very much!
