Borderlands 2 segfault/crashing in Steam

Trying to run Borderlands 2.Clicking play opens a new window "preparing borderlands 2".And then simply closes and the followinfg is shown.

console output:

dmesg:

Various other games run fine with no issues.

Uninstalling and clearing the cache prior to reinstall seems to have worked for many according to steam forums

Already tried that,even removing steam and all associated files aswell.
