So I installed Assassins Creed and Final Fantasy XIII in newest wine 1.7.45, then I start Assassins Creed heavy lags already in the first scene (ingame) even when I changed all settings to low! That can't be as I play Assassin's Creed on Ultra in Windows! With an AMD FX6300 and a Radeon HD 7850. According to the appdb Assassin's Creed has Platinum Status! Other guys like him/her run this game smoothly. FFXIII has goldstatus and doesn't even need good hardware, but is lagging as hell too. Installed everything as said in appdb. Propietary drivers are installed properly otherwise I think I wouldn't even be able to run these games at all. Hope you can help:)

Have you tried Wine Staging?
You should also try the performance tweaks one the winehq page, if you haven't already.

That ubuntu user should never have given platinum rating to AC, as they ran it with many things from winetricks installed.
Silver status seems far more appropriate.
Other things i noted is that they used a 32 bit wine prefix and had winecfg set to windows 7.
Did you use those same settings and the same version of AC ?
Also check http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33442 on the AC page.

Final Fantasy XIII
ratings wine appdb for that : 2x Gold, 1 silver and 1 garbage .
Garbage is from the most recent tester ....

You could try PlayOnLinux to run them under the specific wine versions that worked best for other users.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I got it working perfectly without any lags by installing gallium nine even on Ultra!!! Proprietary drivers seem to suck hard at least on AMD. ![]()
