[SOLVED] Xorg mouse/keyboard lag after being idle

When I leave laptop idle (meaning i don't move a mouse or press keys) for some time (let's say 20 seconds) and then press a key i have to wait 1 second to see effect.

The same situation applies to mouse or touchpad.

In virtual consoles everything's fine.

Re: [SOLVED] Xorg mouse/keyboard lag after being idle

I'm having the same issueon my laptop. My USB keyboard and mouse are seemingly going to sleep very quickly after I stop using them (2-3 seconds). My mouse is completely unresponsive until I press a button, and my keyboard will hang for a second until I press a key, and when it starts working, the keys I pressed while it was suspended will show up all at once in the wrong order. I made sure tlp autosuspend was off to make sure it wasn't that. I upgraded a lot of packages all at once, so I'm not sure what is really causing the problem. If I find anything more I'll post it here.

Edit: So, I've been looking into this and looks like the issue is with systemd, there are reports of version 221 causing keyboards to sleep, and I'm seeing it with my mouse as well. Apparently a fix was released but I'm still getting errors, I'm going to try downgrading and see if that helps.

edit: Yup, downgrading systemd to 219 fixed all my issues. Something in the new version of systemd reeeallly messed up power management for usb input devices. Just for further reference if anyone reads this, I'm using a logitech g300 usb mouse and a dell L100 keyboard

final edit: Thread with a similar issue here stating that a fix is coming in systemd 222.

Re: [SOLVED] Xorg mouse/keyboard lag after being idle

My problem was not with usb devices only (built-in keyboard and touchpad).

Anyway, I fixed it. I have integrated intel + nvidia graphics card.
I generated a file using:

X -configure

Then I removed a section "device" reffering to nvidia card and made this file my xorg.conf file.
