Issue with netctl-auto constantly quitting upon starting.

This has been a problem for me for way too much time. I tried looking at problems similar to mine from the past, but to no help to me so far. I hope you guys can help me figure this out finally.

So basically everytime I try to start netctl-auto@interface.service, the control process exits after failure with not much else to tell me. Here's the print out:

Re: Issue with netctl-auto constantly quitting upon starting.

What is the output of:

netctl list

Have you tried using:

# netctl-auto --help

Can you connect manually?

Yeah so I can manually connect using wifi-menu, but everytime if the unit for netctl-auto is enabled, systemctl tries to load it on boot and it fails with that same exit code.

This is the output of "systemctl status netctl-auto@wlp1s0.service

Jun 29 07:42:40 arch systemd[1]: netctl-auto@wlp1s0.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.

That't the output when I tried to restart the unit with systemctl, maybe it has to do with being occupied, but that's a different error message from when I'm just booting up.

Re: Issue with netctl-auto constantly quitting upon starting.

Have you tried the correct method?

EDIT: Sorry, getting confused there...

I don't actually use netctl so I'm out of ideas here, sorry.

No worries, thank you for trying though sad

EDIT: do you know if there is a way to reset the machine's network configurations without a complete reinstal? I'm just about done with this thing, just want a blank canvas at this point.

Re: Issue with netctl-auto constantly quitting upon starting.

I had the exact same problem (or at least the same output in my journal).

The problem was that I had modified my /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf. Maybe you commented out some important section, so it doesn't work.
