Should I go AMD64?

I am planning on building a new system for myself and have been using ArchLinux and AMD 32bit processors for quite a while now.  Now, I've been thinking that I'd like to get a 64bit AMD CPU, but is Arch64 a maintained/reliable/working solution?  Reading a lot of the posts here, it seems like Arch64 isn't doing too well.  Should I be looking at some other 64-bit Linux distro?  Or stick with making another 32-bit AMD?

Re: Should I go AMD64?

I'd make a 64 bit machine and run 32 bit arch on it for now. Its what I'm doing. I'm expecting to switch to Arch64 in a month or two though, it seems to be maturing.

Re: Should I go AMD64?

^^ ditto. Arch32 will run without any dramas on the 64bit CPU and then by the time you've got it all finished etc, Arch64 should be in considerably better shape forcing you to start again big_smile
