I've put a ptop package in the aur4 repo (it will become the new aur some time today I believe if you want I can put in old aur), but atm not working... I put up a package of the npyscreen git version because the current one in the aur is outdated. And it seems to mess up ptop. Hopefully the maintainer of the package updates and this solves the issue. Otherwise here it is https://aur4.archlinux.org/packages/ptop/ I'll look into whats going wrong soon as I can.

Well I look silly, just after this the dev for ptop made this commit https://github.com/black-perl/ptop/comm … 79201515a1 It appears not be python3 friendly atm. Changed over the things needed to python2. And it's working like a charm. http://i.imgur.com/nUc9yix.png  So you can grab from aur4 right off, or wait til it merges on over to the new aur. Hope it works for you, any trouble hit me up.

I use bspwm, it's very light and does it's job of managing windows really well. You might want to mark your post as solved btw.
