I'm pretty new to *nix systems and been using Ubuntu and Debian for like 6 months but think it's pretty much 'overkill' using any of these systems. I've always been in need of a simple system, with a simple X where I can get the necessary programs myself. Yesterday I read about Arch (and well. It got me). So I decided to try it out. However I believe I need to configure most the driver by hand, am I right? So I just wanted a helping hand on that one.
I'm using an Acer Aspire 3003 LMI with:
Sempron Mobile 3000+ 1800MHz
512MB
80GB
3 x USB 2.0 ports
1 x Type II CardBus PCMCIA slot
1 x RJ-11 jack for modem
1 x RJ-45 jack for Ethernet
15" LCD con 1024X768 pixel resolution - 16.7 milioni di colori
XGA 128MB SIS shared
Integrated Audio System
DVD Dual Layer (+ e -) # This one is actually a dvd-burner.
# Don't know if other info is bad.
Modem PSTN Interno 56K ITU V.92 data/fax
LAN: gigabit Ethernet 10/100 Mbps
So what do I need at hand in order to complete the installation?
Anything else I should bear in mind?
Regards
Richard

How about the Official Installation Guide?

I've scanned through that. Didn't help me to much though.
I have the system up and running now though! Boots real quick, but I still need to tune it pretty much before I can start working
Thanks for the help!
