Just for the fun of it, I'm trying to run Skyrim under Wine on a server computer I keep in my basement, but forward the graphics and sound to my laptop. I have X11 forwarding enabled properly, and I can get Steam to start up and open the launcher menu. Unfortunately, while Wine recognizes the sound card on the server when not using SSH, it's having problems with it when running from my laptop. As such, when I select play, I get an error message informing me that Skyrim cannot run because there is no sound device. Skyrim runs fine locally on my laptop, and there is a sound card in the server. Any ideas on how I might correct this?
