I looked around a bit, i haven't read all 24 pages of this thread so sory if it was allready ansewred.
Xfce4-svn desktop dosen't seem to work, the background and rightclick on the desktop don't work and when i try to edit the settings : Settings>Desktop Settings from the menu i see that "Allow xfce to manage desktop" checkbox isn't checked, i check it nothing happens, i close the app nothing happens, i ope it again the box is unchecked, it won't save the settings.
I saw in one thread that someone fixed this by deleting ~/.cache, this didn't work for me. Any other solutions?
OK running xgl seems to fix this, now when running normal x it works. Why would this happen? How come running xfce on Xgl fixed it?

Same problem here, and deleting ~/.cache fails to resolve it. What does it mean to run Xfce on xgl?

Yeah,
Something's wrong with the latest XFCE update. How do I fix this?

Well, testing went current today, so what your are experiencing is binaries linked to old (and gone) libraries, notably dbus on which xfdesktop, thunar and terminal depend on.
Just wait until SH updates, and install these packages in the meantime:

Repo is up, I'll be updating the repo in about an hour or so, if all goes well.

Repo should be fixed now... If you are still having issues, please reinstall xfce4-svn.

+ Added firefox-devel 8)
Thanks shadowhand
It popped up a few errors on startup, but it worked. There also seem to be a few bugs.
It definitely seems faster than 1.5 unless I'm imagining things. Other than that, the only real differences I see are that the 'Go' menu is gone and there's a History menu instead, and there are X's on the tabs when you have more than one tab open. None of my extensions have been updated for it yet.

I didn't really notice much of a performance boost, but it seems to be fairly stable, even with a few bugs. I did notice that my font sizes are inconsistent with the rest of my desktop, so I may have to add a few of those "useless" patches.

firefox 2.0a1 seems a tad more stable, indeed! 1.5 was a real dissapointment in terms of memory consumption (and leakage).
by the way, I pulled the plug in xfce-svn-testing repo, since the offending libraries were moved to current a couple of days ago ![]()

any chance of getting a xarchiver svn package? :>

Thanks shadowhand!, your repo work great in my system. ![]()
Is possible that you can add in your repo tcl/tk cvs packages with AntiAliasing flag enable? (aMSN look great with that ^^ )
thanks.

I'm a shadowhand repo user too, and everthing works fine. However, without the tcl/tk cvs packages looks amsn very bad. It will be fine, when Shadowhand could add this cvs packages.
Thanks

having some problems with compiz, it doesn't want to start:
compiz: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.
compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz: No managable screens found on display :1
my default depth is set to 24 in xorg.conf - which was working fine until i updated it today. any quick fixes? i'd rather not lower my default depth ![]()
this issue occurs both with compiz-cvs and compiz-quinn-cvs.

Mesa needs to be patched for it to work.

Same here. Getting started on compiling...
*Edit*: Looks like the files in cvs @freedesktop.org have already been patched, as the patch does not 'patch' the files. Anyone concur?
