[Solved] Using touchpad/pointing stick causes "issues"

I'm using a Dell latitude D600 and after I use one of those devices X11 sort of "locks up" to mouse events (keyboard shortcuts still work). This issue doesn't happen when I use an external pointing device (It still happens if I use the touchpad with the mouse plugged in though).
I'm using LXDE and the only changes I've made to how X11 runs is: xorg-xinit and copying the relevant synaptics.conf from the /usr xorg.conf.d directory to the appropriate /etc directory.

These devices performed without problem under SLAX Linux and Bridge Linux.
I guess if there's any info I can provide... Just ask.

Re: [Solved] Using touchpad/pointing stick causes "issues"

So in doing some more research I found this bit on mice not working online, I did step 2 and the first command in the final codebox (output)
The results from step 2 ended up being: the clicks sometimes got output whereas using the touchpad/pointing stick always gave output.

Looking through my hwinfo log tells me that they both seem to be created at input.249 and they have the same unique ID... Could that be the issue?

Installing the psmouse-alps-driver from the aur fixed my clicking woes -- So I guess the D600 with the BCM4309 wifi is odd...
