[Solved] MPD and ncmpcpp not working for me

Okay so, I have mpd and ncmpcpp installed together and I noticed that they would not work. For example, ncmpcpp would not find that I had music in the correct hierarchy to be found. I checked systemctl and found this:

Failed to stat home/<my username>/Music: Permission Denied

What exactly  does this mean and how can I fix it?

It means what it says.

Without any details of your setup, it is impossible to provide any other comment. Read this for a start: How To Ask Questions The Smart Way

Re: [Solved] MPD and ncmpcpp not working for me

I did solve the problem that I had by changing the mpd.service user field to my username which ended up being exactly what I needed for ncmpcpp to see all my music.

I truly am sorry about my lack of info in the forum post. I will try to learn to post better. Thank you for the link to the How to Ask Questions the Smart Way. I will read this when I have time.

P.S: Thank you for having your statuscolors patch posted in bitbucket! It really helped me when I was trying to apply the patch
