I'm in a process to install archlinux on a 64G USB disk now and since I think 64G is more than enough for archlinux I'm planning to just use part of it, say 32G, for Linux and the rest 32G for extra storage (FAT32) that my Windows system can access. But after I partitioned and formatted the disk as I planned, my Windows 8 can't find this 32G FAT32 partition. It only sees the first 512M partition which is for ESP. What could be the problem?
thanks in advance.

Windows usually only recognizes the first partition of USB devices.
So, if you want to use it for storing data that is to be accessible from windows, you will have to put your fat-formatted partition first.
