Gnome Screensaver

Just updated to 2.14 and installed gnome-screensaver.  However, it doesn;t work.  Typing gnome-screensaver at the command prompt gives the following error:

(gnome-screensaver:4526): gnome-screensaver-WARNING **: couldn't connect to session bus: Unable to determine the address of the message bus

(gnome-screensaver:4526): gnome-screensaver-WARNING **: failed to register with the message bus

DBUS is running.  Any ideas?

Re: Gnome Screensaver

You dont have a session bug, if you're starting gnome with .xinitrc use this line to start gnome:

exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session gnome-session

Re: Gnome Screensaver

Thanks!  That worked but now Gnome is complaining about its settings manager.  When I edit some preferences the following dialog pops up:

Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings manager.

I dont have KDE running.
