Change keymap in Xfce4?[SOLVED]

For some reason the setting in rc.conf doesn't apply to Xfce4. I still have american keymap (in X) and I have a tough time using it. There's not a single editable option so I guess I have to configure the configuration file by hand. The problem is that I don't know which.

Regards
Richard

The keymap in X can be set in xorg.conf under Section "InputDevice".

you can also use setxkbmap to set it only for a single session, I think.

Thanks. Now everything works besides the "PIPE" button. It's set on "ALT GR/MOD" and the button used for more-than/less-than (><). Any idea why might not work in X but in the console?

Maybe there are multiple versions of your languages/contrys keyboard? In that case, make sure you loaded the right one in X...
