[Solved] EDIT: arch_grub missing from boot.

Running into a big problem here. I installed kali on my usb using the dd command so I could make it live. I needed to change my bios to a legacy boot in order for it to boot up. Everything works fine when i boot in kali so i return to my arch linux (ive went back in forth from arch to linux about 4 times with zero problems AND made partitions but deleted them because i didnt think i needed them) and I make 2 partitions for the usb using

Fdisk /dev/sdb
(I had to make these to make kali persistent after i found out i needed 2 partitions)

I check with lsblk -f to see if they are there. They both say kali iso sdb1 and sdb2.
I go back to the bios and make it legacy boot then i get an error saying no media found. I try to go back to uefi boot and my arch_grub is missing in the boot to order files. I never messed with my sda partitions.

Edited: took out problem regarding missing partition because they show up with gparted

Try to boot with a live-CD and check the harddrive. Maybe the partition is not lost, but don't show up in the bootloader.

Sounds like an EFI problem.  Boot to an Arch live environment, mount your sda stuff as you would for it, and reinstall grub which should fix the efi boot menu.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do with the arch cd. You must boot from the CD, mount then partitions and chroot like you did when installing arch. Then I think you will be able to reinstall grub.

Wait a minute "did a uefi boot"? Are you not booting the live cd from UEFI?
