Grub2 menu is frozen.

I'm running arch linux and windows 8.1 on HP probook 4520s with testing repos enabled.

I installed some updates for windows and rebooted. Now when I try to boot my computer, the grub menu appears but it is frozen,( no keyboard input, countdown is stuck at 5s).

I tried to make a live usb but when its grub menu booted up it was also stuck.

Any help?

Re: Grub2 menu is frozen.

Have you tried booting with the Arch live ISO?

That uses bootctl (née gummiboot) rather than GRUB.

I downloaded the iso from here https://www.archlinux.org/download/ . When I booted from it, the menu where you choose either x86_64 or i368 it froze just like grub from my hdd.

Re: Grub2 menu is frozen.

What are the settings in your firmware?

Is Secure Boot disabled?
