.mht files?

I have a customer who likes to send me stuff in mht format. I *think* that it's a web archive for IE but I'm not sure.  Is there any way to open those suckers in linux?

Re: .mht files?

A quick google told me that  mht file are indeed a web archive for IE.

Use kmhtconvert to convert them to .war file:
http://users.otenet.gr/~geosp/kmhtconvert/
The .war files be viewed in konqueror (maybe a plugin/addon is needed). I haven't tried it. It has been reported that opera can save/view mht file but it doesn't seem so in my version. There might be other ways too.

If it doesn't work, you could always try to open them in IE through wine.

Re: .mht files?

I think that opera can open them.
Not stable 8.54, grab the latest 9.0 RC beta from http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/ (may be unstable, but works pretty good for me)
It also passes ACID2, and supports a lot of stuff.
