Unlike Windows 7, most of the time (like 90 %) the fan is at its max speed even if no program is launched in Arch.
sensors gives :
radeon-pci-0100
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1: N/A (crit = +120.0°C, hyst = +90.0°C)
coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0: +50.0°C (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 0: +48.0°C (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 1: +45.0°C (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
since the sensors command doesn't return the fan speed (because of some missing modules likely) I ran this command :
└─[$]> repeat 10 cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone*/temp
52000
51000
52000
52000
52000
52000
52000
52000
52000
52000
Any ideas ?
PS 1 : I have not installed the proprietary driver of the Radeon graphic card.
PS 2 : I have installed TLP but did not solve the problem

Hey.
Install 'Powertop' and go to the last tab, and make sure most of the entries are marked as 'Good'. The one that really lowered my temps is "Enable SATA link power management for hostX", and, as far as I know, by default, TLP only enables that one, when the laptop is running on battery power.
