[SOLVED] Hibernation doesn't work (machine starts from scratch)

Hi,

once I was already struggling with hibernation/suspend issues but it seems the problem is not solved. 

I followed
Power management wiki and
Mkinitcpio wiki

and added resume parameter in GRUB and resume hook. Unfortunately hibernation doesn't work. Why I think it doesn't work? All my applications which I have had opened before hibernating are gone when I "resume". It looks like I would just shutdown my laptop (without persisting session in XFCE) and then boot it again.

I just can't work it out. Could you please help?

Please post the output of

blkid

and your kernel parameters.
Also look through your logs and see if there are messages regarding the hibernation image not being found or something.
Is your swap partition big enough?

I see that resume=UUID=c30ebc96-d907-425d-ba54-87f15975d352 appears in kernel parameters list. but how to assure it is respected? how should the log look like?

Maybe unrelated but I actually had problems resuming in CSM compatibility mode. Switched to GPT and UEFI and it worked. So if your laptop has a UEFI board converting to GPT and setting up EFI boot may help (if you're not already using it).

As written on my signature - I'm using quite old machine, Thinkpad T61. It has BIOS, not UEFI. But as stated in my previous post - the problem is solved thanks to th3voic3.
