Hello,
I was wondering about the future driver support for my AMD cards. I have two AMD HD 7950's cards and I run them in CrossfireX using the Catalyst driver. The newer AMDGPU is only going to support R9 285+. I've heard that AMDGPU is written by AMD. Does this mean that the Catalyst driver's development is going to end soon? This concerns me because Catalyst on Linux is far behind the Windows driver. Also with Wayland coming (soon?) it would mean that my cards wouldn't get support. I can't really find much information online about my question. Does anyone have any information?
Thanks

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=n … px=MTgwODA may help, it's from oct 2014 though.
Your card is supported by mesa radeonsi driver, and that is getting very close to catalyst performance in many things.
I suggest you test it out.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
