Dualshock 3 Wired is not being recognized by Steam or Dolphin

I have my dualshock 3 plugged into my PC via the USB. Previously when I was on the Manjaro distro the Dualshock 3 would get recognized by Steam and Dolphin. However on Arch nothing seems to be recognizing it. On the ArchWiki it says support has been in place for it since kernel 3.14 and I am on 4.1 so whats going on here? lsusb is showing is there "Bus 004 Device 003: ID 054c:0268 Sony Corp. Batoh Device / PlayStation 3 Controller" why isn't anything picking it up?
