Lost DVDROM/DVDRW after update

Hi,

After a 2 days before pacman -Syu I lost my dvd drives from /dev and I cannot have access to them.
I believe this could be a udev problem?
Can someone help me?

Re: Lost DVDROM/DVDRW after update

What update/version (check pacman)?
Self compiled kernel? If so, can I get your config

What motherboard?

Could I please get a full dmesg output?

Re: Lost DVDROM/DVDRW after update

I solved the problem by entering in Modules= in rc.conf
ide_cd.
The modules seems not to be autodetected in the version of udev I refered to in the above posts.

Re: Lost DVDROM/DVDRW after update

Thanks. I had the same problem. I've added it to mkinitramfs.conf:
ADD_MODULE="ide-cd"
instead of rc.conf. I don't know if it's better but the module is loaded sooner. I haven't rebooted yet but I'm pretty sure it'll work.
