Plasma 5.4 beta is now available for testing in the official [kde-unstable] repo.
New packages in this release: kwayland-integration, plasma-pa, kwallet-pam, kgamma, user-manager
You need to have [testing] enabled. As usual, please report packaging issues to bugs.archlinux.org (using [kde-unstable] in the description), upsteam issues to bugs.kde.org
Warning: the [kde-unstable] repo also contains KDE Applications 15.08 beta, you'll have to update both.

Looks surprisingly stable! New audio volume applet actually works (I tried git version from AUR before. and it was buggy).
That new dahboard-like app menu also works, except one tiny bit: for some reason, when I assign a keyboard shortcut to it, that shortcut will start classic application menu, not the new one. Weird. Investigating.
Krunner history bloody works!!!! Just that bit makes new plasma a worthy upgrade!
Also, thanks, arojas!

The new audio volume applet seem to have a problem in its settings for me, the Applications and Recording tabs don't actually list anything, well there is just one empty bar. Is it just me?
EDIT: Actually, the Applications tab now show some applications. But there's still the empty bar on top for some reason.

Do you have an application that is actually playing or recording sound?

@arojas - Thanks for all you job. Plasma 5.3.95 works perfectly (I've installed it earilier with my own compilation, but now works on yours). Everything works better then with Plasma 5.3.
I have one question. In Plasma 5.4 we have plasma-pa - new volume manager for Plasma. It's any reason to use KMix? plasma-pa.upd file disable KMix. But it's still a part of KDE Applications 15.08.

I tried the startplasmacompositor script to start a wayland session (after leaving my session and stopping sddm); i had to install qt5-wayland and xorg-server-xwayland.
But it gets stuck at plasma loading screen. I have an intel hd4000.
This is the log: http://pastie.org/10350563 .
Any idea?

Plasma-pa is for pulseaudio and pulseaudio only. Anyone who uses ALSA will appreciate that Kmix still exists. On the other hand, as a pulseaudo user, I appreciate that finaly there is a volume applet which was designed to be used with pulse from the start.

Same here, it's stuck on the loading screen.

Mmmh it works by manually issuing a
kwin_wayland --libinput --xwayland "plasmashell --platform wayland"
The session isn't working very well but it's a good starting point!

That should start plasma on X and Kwin on wayland. I belive that startplasmacompositor is meant to start everything on wayland. Or am I wrong?

Btw the only bug i found (in a normal X session) is "recent documents" in kickoff: they're not working; it lists them just fine, but it seems it can't find the correct application to open them.

I can confirm. It seems that we cannot delate them, too.

Font preview is not working for me under System Settings->Font->Font Management. I am seeing white space with some black marks on the side. Anyone is seeing the same?

@Goresome - try performing full upgrade with 'pacman -Syu'

Remove kwayland-git and install kwayland from the repo.

Thanks, that was silly of me.
EDIT: Sadly, Breeze still dont yet scale misc gui elements by DPI, back to Fusion.

How would i revert back to plasma 5.3? As in uninstall all the new packages i just installed from testing/kde-unstable repo?

Disable testing/kde-unstable repos, then pacman -Syuu

Thanks, that's the issue I am seeing. Is there a bug report for Application Launcher not being re sizable? Tried searching, but did not find anything.

Thank you. That is easy enough

I am using pulseaudio, but plasma-pa applet is still far from being usable. I prefer kmix.
Excuse my poor English.

Hello. I have a consistent crash at login:
I guess thread 1 is the relevant bit. It's the first time I've added a testing repo, so maybe I did something wrong altough I see both plasma-desktop 5.3.95-1 and kde-applications-meta 15.08-0.4 correctly installed. I've uninstalled all 3rd party applications playing with the traybar (dropbox, telegram, etc...). Also, I played a bit in the past to try and show the dropbox icon in the tray bar with no luck, but I've never touched any system file, just added and removed some libraries (libindicator-*/libappindicator-*/sni-qt/lib32-sni-qt) but now they are all uninstalled.
Next I will try to revert to a clean configuration and let you know.
Sorry, I missed I had to enable also the testing repo. Updating now.

Removing .config/plasma* and .kde4 hasn't fixed the issue. This is the output when launching plasmashell from a terminal:
See previous message.
