Hi there!
My laptop has a key to toggle my touchpad between on and off. This is done by hardware already. Unfortunately, Cinnamon (I think Cinnamon is responsible, but I'm not sure) recognizes when I press this key and, as a consequence, enables or disables my touchpad by software. This often leads to situations where I can't use my touchpad, because it is disabled by software while being enabled by hardware or the other way around. To get hardware- and software-switch resynced, I can for example enter standby mode for a some seconds (which automatically enables the touchpad in hardware), but this is a stupid workaround.
So long story short: I need a way to make Cinnamon ignore the touchpad toggle button. Does anyone know how to do this?
Thank you in advance!

I still have not found a solution for this. I'm unsure if this is really Cinnamon's fault. Does anyone have an idea, how to find out which software component is responsible for enabling and disabling the touchpad?
