Before you start asking, yes I searched on this question, and none of it have helped me out.
To cut to the chase, I have no sound whatsoever.
Gnome (3.16.2) doesn't find any sound card, and alsa finds an HDA Intel HDMI and HDA Intel PCH sound card.
# nano /proc/asound/cards
0 [HDMI] : HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDMI
HDA Intel HDMI at 0xd3610000 irq 33
1 [PCH] : HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xd3614000 irq 30
# speaker-test -c2
Speaker-test 1.0.29Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1024:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Playback open error: -2,No such file or directory
# amixer sset Master (un)mute
amixer: Unable to find simple control 'Master' ,0
I'm on a Toshiba Satellite L70 series, if that helps in any way, although I think it has more to do with how I installed Arch.
I tried it from a fresh install, but the same problem keeps occuring, so I feel like I'm missing a step here.
Multiple topics about this that I've found, and none that said anything about how to (potentially) fix it.
Any kind of help towards fixing this will be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Kibo
Edit: somehow (?) managed to get it to work. No idea what solved it, but it works now.
