Version 15.08.0-1 of Dolphin is ignoring the system-wide setting of opening files and folders with a double-click, and uses a single-click instead. The application-wide setting, which used to exist under the Navigation tab in the Dolphin configuration dialog, has disappeared.
Anyone know what I can do?

Hi ido50,
i cannot reproduce this. Dolphin respects the system-wide setting without problems.
Are you using plasma 5 or are you still using KDE4?
Greets,

Still on KDE4 (had too many crashes with Plasma 5).

That could explain it. The new dolphin is the first one built against the KF5. So it would be plausible, if it ignores settings made in KDE4
Could you have a look at the following file: ~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals
There please check the Section "[KDE]" and there the value "SingleClick". In your case it should be set to "false" (without quotes).

Indeed it is set to false.

OK, on my machine I was mislead by the fact, that the new system-settings also change this file. But this is indeed the KDE4-file. The KF5-file is ~/.config/kdeglobals
So:
Create ~/.config/kdeglobals (if it does not already exist)
Look for the [KDE]-Group (create it, if it does not exist)
Change the value for SingleClick to false (create the line, if it does not exist)
Then it should work.

Great, that solved the problem for me. Thanks a lot!

Dolphin now uses the System-wide setting rather than having it's own setting.
Just change the "Icons" value under: System Settings -> Input Devices -> Mouse

Wow i have to thank you too. This single click thing was so annoying. Could not find the setting for that anywhere. I can not tell you how much i hated it.
So thank you very much.
