I got everything installed and configured with UEFI, but I've been having the following issues.
First, graphics. The machine has an intel card and an nvidia card. When I use nvidia-340xx, X boots to a completely blank screen with no way of getting out, including with virtual console switching. When I use the intel driver, X boots, but displays with a crazy amount of glitching; in terminals, in gtk apps, everywhere. I've tried bumblebee and it didn't work for me, it wouldn't boot the X server at all, saying no displays were found. I also tried using acpi_call to disable the nvidia card, but turn_off_gpu.sh wasn't able to get any results.
Second, the touchpad. With xf86-input-synaptics, it doesn't tolerate more than one finger, which makes interaction very difficult. There's basically no palm detection. I tried the config here, but it didn't change anything for me. I also tried the gpointing-device-settings tool, but I was unable to read any of the options because of the graphics glitching, and adjusting the sliders didn't do anything. I tried using xf86-input-mtrack-git, but using that caused the touchpad to become completely unresponsive.
Any help would be appreciated, I'm close to giving up at this point since it seems I've tried everything in the wiki and nothing is working for these problems. I'm wondering how Judd Vinet uses Arch on his MBP!
