[FIXED] WINE garbled background/character sprites

Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/Ne86uBL.png (ignore the notification in the top left)

Game is Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, which other people have gotten working in WINE (according to https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. … &iId=25068). The issue should be obvious from the screenshot: everything draws correctly except character sprites and the background. Menus also work correctly.
Wine version is 1.7.44
Tried the linear drawing thing suggested on winehq, doesn't do anything. Tried turning on StrictDrawOrdering, did nothing. d3dx_36.dll is installed.
Any clues to a solution would be very much appreciated.

EDIT: I'll update the OP with relevant info:
1) Issue persists on multiple wine versions (tested on wine 1.5.6, wine-gaming (which is a patched 1.7.44) and wine 1.7.8 (through playonlinux, in a clean wineprefix)
2) I logged WINE output into a file. Output is from me opening the game, going into arcade mode until the issue appears, then exiting the game.
Logfile (never used this website before but pastebin doesn't let me upload files. Tell me if the links go down or something, I'll reupload somewhere else):
with duplicate lines (thousands of lines!):
        http://derp.co.uk/4b5ff
without duplicate lines (only a couple of lines):
        http://derp.co.uk/c0078
This is from the wine-gaming install, however the issue persists on an unpatched wine version, so ignore the "Wine Staging 1.7.44 is a testing version..." part
3) Using the latest proprietary NVIDIA drivers, on a NVIDIA GeForce 440 GT graphics card. All packages are current.
4) Problem exists even on the demo, which is available to download for free here: meltyblood.info/uploadtrial/MBAACC107TrialRev10.zip. So if you want to test if it works on your machine, please use that.
5) Emulating a virtual desktop didn't work (didn't think it would, but it's worth mentioning)

EDIT2: Fixed it. "winetricks d3dx9" did it. I'm 1,000,000% convinced that I had done that already, I really am. I mean it even mentioned on the darned winehq page (although specifically it said d3dx9_36, which I'm even more certain I had installed)
I bet gnomes did this. Darn gnomes.

Re: [FIXED] WINE garbled background/character sprites

I tried the demo, and it works fine here out of the box. Wine is 1.7.50-1 with intel integrated GPU. Maybe try upgrading wine?

Re: [FIXED] WINE garbled background/character sprites

I could try to, but is there any reliable way to backup my current WINE installation (including the binary and stuff)? I'm currently using wine-gaming (I think it was because of audio issues, but I'm not quite sure) and it takes an ungodly amount of time to compile (and I don't have any old tarballs left, apparently) so I'd like to avoid upgrading WINE if possible (not to mention that my wine version is 1.7.44, and the Arch repo version is 1.7.49 if I'm not mistaken, so not that much could've changed. On top of that, MBAACC has been reported working in a wine version as early as 1.5.6, so I doubt that's it)

EDIT: I probably should've mentioned I was using wine-gaming, I just forgot. Specifically, I'm using wine-gaming-git, which used to be an AUR package but I think it went umaintained, it's still available here: http://pkgbuild.com/git/aur-mirror.git/ … gaming-git. As far as I can tell it's just wine 1.7.44 with some patches applied, though.

I'll try downloading the MBAACC demo and see if that has the same issues.
Also, because it's probably relevant: I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce 440 GT graphics card and the latest proprietary drivers.

EDIT2: Can confirm issue exists even in demo.

EDIT3: Installed in a clean, 32bit wineprefix, using wine version 1.7.8 through playonlinux. Issue persists. Also audio sounds like Satan's stepmother is defecating into my ears.
Basically, what it boils down to is that using a newer, unpatched wine version doesn't fix it either, sadly.

EDIT4: Skualito, do you have any DLL overrides and if so which ones?
