Auto-resuming after suspend when logged-in

Hi everybody,
I've not been able to suspend normally ever since some update which also required me to switch the SATA mode to AHCI. The machine resumes automatically in 3-30 secs depending on the DE and command (s2ram --force, pm-suspend or systemctl suspend).
Interestingly, things seem to work normally when I am not logged-in and suspending from the Lightdm menu.
How can I find out what is causing the auto-resume behaviour?
I know I can put things in the suspend/resume service files as suggested in the Power Management Wiki, but crafting specific details is beyond me.
Please help or electricity bills will kill me!
