ncmpcpp setup issues

here i am again with another issues, well here it is.

so i decided i wanted to use ncmpcpp because i love the aesthetics of text based software. With that being said as soon as i installed it i found myself overwhelmed trying to get it to work.

so i did a little digging and found this site that gives examples of how to set it up
http://www.linuxandlife.com/2012/01/sim … mpcpp.html

after following the steps i came up with this:

music_directory "home/enzyme/cd0a5572-6e37-4105-8727-5e9b48a55c82/music"
playlist_directory "home/enzyme/.mpd/playlists"
db_file         "/home/enzyme/.mpd/mpd.db"
log_file        "/home/enzyme/.mpd/mpd.log"
pid_file        "/home/enzyme/.mpd/mpd.log"
state_file      "/home/enzyme/.mpd/mpdstate"
audio_output {
      type   "pulse"
      name   "martyr"
}

i may have done something wrong or i was thinking maybe the music files have to be in the music file.
right now have them all in separate files sectiond by artist and than by album.
also they are .m4a do i have to convert the music files to something else maybe?

what i wrote might not make a whole lot of sense but im trying to word it so that it willif i missed anything please let me know and i will try and fix it.

thank you

Re: ncmpcpp setup issues

Help us help you by at least stating what your problem is? If "it" is not working, please provide the actual errors you're getting.

Re: ncmpcpp setup issues

First you must understand what is ncmpcpp and what is mpd, and read the ArchLinux documentation about it.
please ,follow the step described here, and if it does not work please provide the error message you're getting.
