Hi, I ran into some trouble after the last update and I need help rolling a few packages back.
I am runnign Arch linux as a virtualbox guest to Windows 7.
I upgraded my system recently and it turns out that the new versions of the virtualbox-guest-*-5.* don't work with dual window/display settups inside virtualbox.
(Link to bug reports & solutions).
As described in the bug report xrandr doesn't detect the second screen, despite it being set by the virtualbox host.
The versions that I am trying to roll back to are the 4.3.28:
virtualbox-guest-dkms-4.3.28-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
virtualbox-guest-iso-4.3.28-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
virtualbox-guest-modules-4.3.28-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
virtualbox-guest-modules-4.3.28-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
virtualbox-guest-modules-4.3.28-4-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
virtualbox-guest-modules-lts-4.3.28-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
virtualbox-guest-utils-4.3.28-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
As suggested in the bug report I tried downgrading the packages to the 4.3.28 versions, but when I restart the guest additions are disabled. Also I get a notification that vboxservice.service is not running.
I tried starting the service manually using systemctl but I get no output or anything, it just doesn't start.
Now when I rolled back some of the packages I got a message about using dkms command and I entered it. Which supposedly re-compiled the modules for the current kernel ?
My kernel is the default one, newly updated : 4.1.6-1-ARCH.
I know that I am missing something here but I can't seem to find out what... Any ideas ?
(I also updated my virtualbox app inside windows.)

Build the old version from abs, might work better, if not, post full output and logs.

What do you mean by abs ? I am using pacman to install the packages from the cache, since I still have them locally.

(use the asp tool or the web interface instead of the `abs` tool)
