Hi All,
I just did a fresh installation of Arch on an old UEFI system. During boot, it seems to hang on:
[ 71.190365] Bluetooth: Patch file not found ar3k/AthrBT_0x31010100.dfu
[ 71.193379] Bluetooth: Loading patch file failed
Not sure if this is the cause, or whether my hard drive is just knackered. Does always hang at this point, though. No other errors or failure messages. Giving a heads up in case anyone else has experienced the same thing...

Does the accepted answer in http://askubuntu.com/questions/649483/h … 896-laptop do the trick?

Good idea, but doubtful, as linux-firmware is a dependency of the linux kernels, so would be installed. Saying that, I did another installation in a VM, and although I had the same error message, it booted fine. Could be my hardware, which I'm checking out. Will see if anyone else is having the same problem to confirm either way.

The answer talked about installing a *specific* firmware (check the actual repo URL that the OP is directed to), not just the standard one.

The askubuntu solution works, the files are missing and you need both AthrBT_0x31010100.dfu and ramps_0x31010100_40.dfu which are available in the deb package which you can extract by running "ar xv package.deb".
EDIT:
I've since created a PKGBUILD that I've uploaded to the AUR to make things easier for me, and any other Arch user who needs this firmware. You can check it out here.
