HP PSC 1600 all-in-one getting scanner to work

Has any one had any luck in getting the scannner portion of this hardware to work. I had no problems setting up the printer but I can't get the scanner to work. When I try xsane it flashes scanning for devices and closes.

I never used it, but there is a separate driver for HP devices.
http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/suplist.shtml
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_print … P-PSC_1600
It's not in the support list, but I suppose it'll work.

You need hplip (pacman -S hplip). hpoj is old. (You didn't say whether you were using hplip, so I thought I'd mention it.) And I think the hplip daemon must be started before cups.

I'm sorry for providing old information, then.
