st (suckless terminal emulator) - XOpenIM failed

Hi,

I'm trying to run st and I get the following error message

XOpenIM failed. Could not open input device.

urxvt ignoring danish characters seems to a related issue but all my locales seem to be set.

There was a thread about the same error here, but I didn't see a solution comp.misc.suckless cannot run st
