i had the same problem after the upgrade of quod libet. don't know exactly now what i did, but i think, i just installed gstreamer0.10-good or -mad again.

Me too...mp3 support disappeared with the latest release and I can't figure out how to get it back. Does anyone have Quod Libet 0.19 up and running properly?

Would you mind posting which gstreamer plugins you have installed?

This one is odd. Can you try removing your ~/.gst* directories, and renaming them - and then checking gstreamer-properties in the gnome-media package, to make sure everything is configured right?
Perhaps this is a gconf thing...maybe you can install gconf-editor and take a peek around?

had this problem too a while back and i didn't solve it, but i found out that exfalso (the tagger that comes with quodlibet) doesn't work either, even though it's just an independent tagger that doesn't need to play music, just tag... (or at least it should)
so if this is any help... though i don't think it is...
now i have to tag my music with amarok lol

Got the same thing here, AAC isn't supported even though I've got all the right stuff installed. It's supported fine in Rhythmbox and every other GStreamer 0.10 app, but Rhythmbox is slow and buggy, and I don't want any Mono crap on my system.

For faad you will need python-ctypes, which is in AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … s=0&SeB=nd

Umm, Banshee doesn't play AAC either. There is something screwy here.
