Error in '/usr/lib/xorg-server/Xorg' when starting X

Hi,

Since last week I get the error

Error in '/usr/lib/xorg-server/Xorg': double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x0000000001a5c640

and a backtrace and memory map. The errors do not show in xorgs error log (pasted at the bottom) but do show on the screen; apparently these errors are printed directly to tty (cannot find where I read this, sorry) and I haven't yet managed to pipe these to a file. In the xorg log file I indicated at what location the errors are printed on the screen.

I have already tried

  • rebooting.

  • pacman -Syu.

  • Downgrading xorg.

  • Downgrading everything to the 1st of June 2015 using arch rollback machine.

  • Upgrading system back to today.

and every time I get that same error.

I'm dual booting arch and windows 10 (which works, no problems) on an HP Elitebook 8560w, Nvidia Quadro 1000M, intel i7-2630QM and 4GB ram

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Forgot to actually ask my question: Is this a bug in Xorg, and if not, what can I try? I have not found anyone with this exact error message, and I would think that if it were a bug it would show up more often. Also, my errors look a bit like this (if it helps): https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29568?getfile=8636 but of course a different error message, backtrace and memory map.
